Devan Jacobsen is a cello performance major student at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music. He started playing guitar at 12 years old. When he had a teacher who introduced him to classical guitar, he really fell in love with music. He started learning his favorite video game, anime, and movie music arrangements for solo guitar. When Devan was 17 years old, he started to learn the cello with the principal cellist of the Claremont Symphony Orchestra: Anne Sherrill. In his community college days at Mt. San Antonio College, he started taking lessons with Anna Marie Maldonado who is the principal cellist of the San Bernardino Symphony. It was also at this time he would study with Maggie Parkins who is the cello teacher for Pomona College. Both Maggie Parkins and Anna Maldonado helped him with his audition for the Bob Cole Conservatory of music where he now is studying with Joon Sung Jun. Currently, Devan freelances around with symphonies and teaching.
